Sammy initiated play with Baelfire!
Sam and Bae racing around the yard together.
I bought a plastic crate for Sammy to use at the farm. Normally I would just let her loose in the car with the windows cracked, but it’s going to get really hot this summer and I want to be able to have all the doors and windows open without her jumping out. Plus, she is a totally different dog out at the farm and will start clawing at the windows to get out whenever I walk across the field to watch other handlers herding with their dogs. The crate will keep her from scratching the windows, and (as I noticed today at the farm) it also kept her pretty darn quiet!
If you’re wondering, the pet taxi that Bae is in is a loaner from my herding instructor. There’s no sense in buying him the largest size that he will fit in as an adult because he’s too small for it now, so in the meantime I’ll be borrowing crates from my herding instructor until he’s a bit bigger. Once he reaches 30 or 40lbs I’ll invest in the proper size crate for his adult size if I end up herding with him. Getting that crate for Sammy was a surprisingly awesome investment for leaving her in the Jeep at the farm, but for normal car rides I won’t use it.
Snow!? It was so sunny and warm yesterday!
